2026-2027 Back to School Information

2026-2027 Back-to-School Information

This is an exciting time for students, parents, and staff. Everyone wants that excitement to translate into a positive experience on the first day of school and throughout the school year.  Below are some important dates for the beginning of the school year. Although we attempt to align with D49 calendars, we occasionally have variations.

The most effective way to know what is going on at SSAE or PPEC is to visit our website calendars

School Hours
High School - Monday & Wednesday,  8:00 - 3:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 - 11:15 am for PPEC Classes/Academic Support and SSAE Academic Support only.
Middle School - Tuesday & Thursday, 8:00 - 3:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 - 12:00 pm
The earliest time for drop off time is 7:30 am, and students must be picked up by 3:15 pm.

School Fees
A $50.00 activity/supply fee (Cash/Check only) is required for all grade levels and must be paid by August 7th unless you qualify for free or reduced-price benefits for the 2026-2027 school year.  To waive or reduce the activity/supply fee, you must provide the 2026-2027 approved Direct Certification Notification Letter.
Applications for free or reduced-price status must be submitted annually.

NEW - Middle School Chromebook Distribution - 6th-8th grade

High School Computer Distribution Information
Computer setup can take 15-20 minutes per computer; however, it may take longer due to technical issues. Computers will be distributed to students only if they have the signed Electronic Device Agreement and the Acceptable Use Agreement on the day of computer checkout. Links to sign up for the high school computer check-out were included in the email with the back-to-school information.

Students may use their own device at home as long as it has a camera for Google Meet sessions. However, personal devices cannot be used on campus. Students may check out a Chromebook for day use in the building.

Free School Lunch Program for D49 Students at the Campus
D49 is pleased to offer free school lunches to all D49 students. Students will need to place their lunch orders in the morning through Google Classroom at school.

The lunch program will be available on the following days:

  • High School Students: Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Middle School Students: Tuesdays and Thursdays

The program will begin on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Concurrent Enrollment Information Sessions – Required for All PPEC & SSAE College Students

To help ensure a successful start to the Fall 2026 semester, all students enrolled in concurrent enrollment college courses—both new and returning—are required to attend one virtual information session before classes begin.

These sessions will provide important information about college expectations, student responsibilities, resources, deadlines, and key procedures for the upcoming semester.

All sessions will be held virtually via Google Meet.

Students will receive an email from Elisabeth Carter (PPEC) or Katy Swann (SSAE) in mid-July with a link to register for their preferred session.

Session Options (dates and times subject to update)
Tuesday, July 21 | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Tuesday, July 28 | 10:00 AM–11:00 AM
Wednesday, July 29 | 1:00 PM–2:00 PM
Thursday, August 6 | 9:30 AM–10:30 AM

If you have questions, please contact Elisabeth Carter at elisabeth.carter@d49.org. While email responses may be delayed during summer break, inquiries will be answered as soon as possible upon her return in mid-July.
